Carrick-on-Shannon
A major centre for boating. In 1994 the last stretch of the Shannon-Erne Waterway was completed with the reopening of the Ballyconnell-Ballinamore Canal completing 382km of canals and loughs that begin in Limerick and end in Buleek on Upper Lough Erne.

An indepth look at how the Cavan and Leitrim Railway is being brought back to its former glory after nearly 40 years of dereliction. There is a photographic archive made up of photos that were taken while the original Railway was still in existence. Mainly black and white, these photographs serve as a permanent record of the Railway in the bygone era of the Irish Narrow-Gauge railways.

Costello Memorial Chapel

Located in Carrick-on-Shannon and reputed to be the second-smallest chapel in the world. At five by just over three-and-half metres, Costello Chapel was built in 1877 by a local businessman named Edward Costello as a memorial to his dead wife. Both Costello and his wife are buried in the chapel.

The Heritage Centre celebrates the history of this area. You can experience a beautifully reconstructed Irish Cottage and farmyard. The Heritage Centre has a traditional sweat house and agricultural machinery. The Donald Fidgeon Resource Centre on site tells the story of the 1798 Rebellion and Drumkeerin's part in it by use of displays and memorabilia.
